Our Goals
The Brickers Foundation was created to increase the quantity and quality of efforts to help those in need and provide an opportunity for improvement in our neighbors’ lives as much as possible.
Provide youth support to prepare for success
Youth are our future, and we want to ensure they have the necessary tools to prosper. These tools consist of understanding educational options such as college and technical requirements so that job opportunities can be increased. In addition, we want to ensure that youth have a firm grasp on how to manage finances and are provided best tips to better health and nutrition. Public speaking, leadership soft skills will also be a focus.
Increase employment opportunities and advancement
We want to provide career-seekers with the resources to find jobs and get hired. We will focus on interviewing skills and techniques to obtain employment. Soft skills such as listening comprehension, attentiveness, etc. will be highlighted as key factors for job qualification. We will provide recommendations on how to build key relationships for networking, and beyond.
Promote health and wellness
Living long and healthy lives is a passion for us. We believe that in order to lead properly, the leader must be able to sustain mentally, as well as physically. We want to enforce the importance of physical fitness by providing good exercise tips, as well as nutrition tips. Also, provide understanding of good sleep habits, to perform at an optimal level.
Improve financial literacy
Not only do we want to help those to obtain and keep good jobs, but managing finances is just as important. We want to spotlight savings strategies for long term needs such as down payment on a house, college savings, or emergency funds. We stress the importance of building and maintaining great credit, and how to do so. We’ll provide resources on how to buy a house, including seeking lender, saving strategies, and mortgage options. We also want to encourage 401K use and will shed light on how to do so and ways to optimize.
